Tour du Montréal

Even with the Canadiens’ NHL hockey team’s season in doubt, there are plenty of reasons to visit Montréal, one of North America’s most cosmopolitan cities. The city of 1.65 million people offers romantic, fantastic public markets in Old Montréal, more than 75 festivals for the culture lover and Le Plateau, the city’s bohemian enclave. With outstanding restaurants and outdoor recreation rounding out the possibilities, what’s not to love?

I have been to Montreal at least fifty times. It is truly one of my favorite cities in North America.  Unlike Toronto and Vancouver, I feel like I have left the United States when I venture to Montreal. Its progressive vibe, European charm and cornucopia of entertainment options make it a definite place to visit. The winters can be harsh. Fortunately, there is Underground Montreal which connects to most places of interest in the downtown area.

I have been to Montreal a dozen times and your photos just don't do it justice.  It is an incredibly beautiful city with charm, character and a decided European flavor. People are friendly and helpful.  Now if they could just do something about the cold weather.....
