How about Mexico? Please, you can't publish an article about "Chiles" without mention Mexico, te world's biggest consumer of Chiles. And Texas? C'mon! "Chilli con carne" is not a spicy food. Please, be more informed before publishing things like this.

Chili, the fruit that sprang form South America, How ignorant can this people be?? Chili, like avocado, chocolate, vanilla, bean and so many others are from Mexico. Mexico is world wide known for it's spicy cuisine, because the chili is from Mexico. Just name any kind of salsas and they're form Mexico too! Have this people ever gone to a mexican Restaurant? South Americans and central Americans are always amazed to see how Mexicans eat chili on everything! They don't even eat spicy food. I wish that the people who write this articles would inform/research first before saying such atrocities! Where's Mexico on this list? the country with more chili variety and the country that eats more chili in the whole world?? ....And the name is CHILE. Is MSN ignorant or just the people they hire?! A concerned American speaking the truth.

I no longer live in NM but I concur that the best chile comes from Hatch.  One can get anything from Hot to Mild but best of all it is all tasty.  Whenever back there during the season we always try to get as much as possible.  However, once in Thailand as  I ordered a dish  the server said, "(sp) Mak, Mak Hot".  I told him no problem since I spent so much time in NM & TX. About blew my ears off!!

The UK.  Really?  The space station.  Really?  How about Louisiana that actually supplied the hotsauce to the space station.  Also, it is a little redundant to call out Texas and the Southwest US.

Apparently the journalist did not do his/her homework. This article is based on a personal experience, not through investigaive facts. Poor journalism.

I used to love spicy food.  It sucks that I can't have it anymore because of my Crohn's =(.
