We owe a debt of gratitude to South America as they were the original potato growers. The plant was brought back to Europe which became a staple food. Then it was brought back to North America.

Most potatoes come from Idaho? Really? Idaho produces less than 20% of potatoes grown in the

US. Idaho grows more potatoes than any one state but the statement that most potatoes come from Idaho is incorrect.

Lest we forget, all of the foods listed except marshmallows and Brussel sprouts were first cultivated by the American Indians.

So I've received some pretty nasty emails frome people about my post....listen, get on  YouTube and you will surely see the cruelty that is going on upon these Butterball farms in North Carolina. Now I AM not saying " awww dont eat meat poor lil animals" NO. What Im being clear about is that although these animals are going to be eaten, they should be treated with respect and deserve a clean kill. Like I said a few times already, I like meat, I think we all should eat some meat because it IS good for you and its simply nature...we're all part of the food chain, well we're at the top til we get near a great white near the coast of Cali of Australia lol. But listen people, even animals in nature try to make their kills quick and clean....we should do the same!!!

Happy  Thanksgiving   to All.   We  have  it  better  than  the rest of the world.  How  many  break the law

trying  to  get  into   ANY other country  in the world ?  Thanks  to  all our  ancestors  for  coming  to America.  However  we  are  not  perfect.  We  are  the  people  who  are  not  satisfied  with  how  it  is.

We {Americans}   want  to  know  how  it  could  be.  That's  American !!!!!

This is the country's first thanksgiving in which individual liberty and freedom were sacrificed for perceived social need.  Where the masses cried out in envy and the new motto became "Ask not what you can do for your country but what your country can do for you."  Where the melting pot fragmented into a million lights of racism, and women everywhere wondered what constitutional right was next for sacrifice for personal health.  A republic...if you can keep it.  And we could not.

If we could all try to be equally thankful each day of the year?  I am going to try harder.

Thanks for sharing your home grown meal with us.   You're blessed to have the resources  to raise your foods and health to  gather and prepare it.   We strive for a low sodium diet due to health issues.   We are grateful to God for our blessings also and we wish you and your family and friends a happy Thanksgiving.
