New and Renewed Museums for 2012

America’s golden age of museum building isn’t over, at least not yet. There may not be as many big-ticket new or expanded art or science museums in the pipeline as there were a decade or two ago, but a number of bold projects will be completed in 2012 or soon after. From the radical relocation of the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia to a spate of museum renewals in preparation for the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, there are a good number of exciting openings and reopening this year. So let’s make like billionaire businessman H. Ross Perot and see what’s under the hood at nine museum projects large and small across the country.

This is just sad that if you set up a trust to watch all your stuff after you leave this world, someone with money can get that trust broken.  Shame on the Philly Govt. for allowing this to happen, Barnes never wanted the world to view his collection it was for the students to learn from...shame, shame, shame!
