Dr. Beach's Top 10 Beaches, 2012

Coastal scientist Stephen P. Leatherman, a professor at Florida International University known as "Dr. Beach," announced his 22nd annual Top 10 Beaches list on May 25. He has compiled the list annually since 1991 using 50 criteria, including sand and water quality as well as safety and environmental management. Leatherman has published 16 books, including his most recent release, “Field Guide to the Water’s Edge” (National Geographic, www.nationalgeographic.com/books). Here are his top 10 picks for 2012.

Just returned from Wrightsville Beach in N.C.  Absolutely wonderful spot.  Great Island.  Very clean.

siesta Key Beach, Fl is and always will be the number 1 beach in the world.  He never gives the same beach year after year which really means you are an idiot to pay this smuck for information that is lacking in science.  He's a moron making money by telling people someting that is never true..

 Bahia Honda is the best beach in Florida, Dr Beach is full of beans, the second best Beach in Florida  is Lovers Key.
