Jamaica preparing to ban smoking in public places
Island country following in footsteps of other Caribbean nations.
KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) —Jamaica is set to become the latest regional country to ban smoking in public.
Health Minister Fenton Ferguson told lawmakers Tuesday that smoking will be prohibited in public places beginning July 15.
Ferguson says businesses will have six months to post "No Smoking" signs and all tobacco products will have to include new warnings about the health effects of lighting up.
He says further details about enforcement and other aspects of smoking ban are to be announced soon.
Now smoking causes Diabetes, too? That's why I have Type II! All this time, it had nothing to do with the fact that practically everyone on my mother's side of the family had it, or that at 52, I was still eating like a 16-year-old kid! Who would have ever thought? It's absolutely amazing what all of this progressive landmark research has revealed ever since the EPA declared shs was a carcinogen, for now smoking causes the following, in no particular order: erectile dysfunction, mental retardation, Alzheimer's, breast cancer, male pattern baldness, premature aging, pancreatic cancer, bladder cancer, loss of limbs, and speeds up the progression of HIV to AIDS.
Can you say social engineering? Repeat after me: S-O-C-I-A-L E-N-G-I-N-E-E-R-I-N-G
A rather well-known political figure was the Chancellor of Germany from 1932 until his death in 1945. He once stated that if a lie was told long enough, it would be perceived as the truth. Food for thought.
Actually, who cares about Jamaica??? Really, it's a dirty country, FILLED with Crime and Corruption. The only reason anyone goes there, and mainly Americans, is that it's CHEAP. It's filled with gangs and corruption in the Government and many, many hateful people. They prey on the tourists for their money and unless you go directly from the airport to a resort you are taking your life in your own hands and can be subject to shake-downs and muggings and rape. You can't let on that you have any money and famous people can't go there without fear of being set up for some scam with the court system to be asked to give money to avoid jail or a court date. Only the few rappers or singers that go there are going to promote their music and they travel with heavy security.
If you're an American going to Jamaica, you might as well just give your money to their government and should be ashamed that you are spending your American dollars in a country that is not even civil to most except to get the tourist dollar. If you're going to go to a Caribbean island you should either go to The American Virgin Islands or Puerto Rico, at least they are under the security of America more than Jamaica. If you get thrown in jail in Jamaica then you might as well kiss your freedom goodbye and then will be sorry you even went there. Travel and spend your money in American territories if you go outside the US.
