If you want to get the whole Nordic snow thing, might I recommend Fargo/Moorhead? Great shopping, some good restaurants, and much, much nicer people than the Danes.
Oh, and much less smoking.
My sister lived in Copenhagen, and I visited Tivoli---grotesquely OVERRATED. However, Danish pastries are excellent.
But beware---the whole city shuts down at 5 PM except for the bars, and gas is OUTRAGEOUS. Copenhagen has the traffic density of Decatur, Alabama for a reason.

In addition, they don't like Yanks, and they hate Asians.
