A view to a country: James Bond’s England
VIDEO ON MSN LOCAL EDITION
I love London, since my first visit there, in 1951. Still covered in soot and many bombed out buildings, from the Blitz. But it was still a thrill, getting on the Tube, riding around the city. The Tower of London, the Tower Bridge. 10 Downing street, in those safer days, where you could stand next to the Bobby and have your photo taken. So many wonderful sights to see, As a wag, once said if you tire of London, you are tired of life.
I also have a tie to Sean Connery, being both of us, born and Bred in Edinburgh.Scotland. around the same time. Atlhough I think he's a little older than me. So of course he was our favorite Bond, as Bond was Scottish as was the author Ian Fleming.
So nice to see the Bond movies, still going on and entertaining us all, after fifty years.
I also was happy to see London again, during the Olympics, so bright and shiny, since they stopped using coal to hear our homes. Although it sure cut down on those London Fogs, ala Smog.
Judging my the 'take' from 'Skyfall' opening day, it's going to be another winner.
So looks like more of that spy fun for mamy more years.
I love all the 007's, Sean Connery was the best and still is. you have to love his charm and in the movie Indiana Jones comedy wise also.
Saw Skyfall yesterday. Have seen all of the Bond Movies. Always great. But why do they give Bond that dinky PPK hand gun?
How about a big Colt 1991 45-- to do more damage? When it is empty you can always use it as bat.
