The only place where we have gotten lost is Costa Rica. Neither our maps downloaded from the computer before we left nor the maps which were provided there were accurate. Not knowing any of this ahead of time we declined renting a GPS or a rental phone when we picked up our car at the airport. We plan to return but will be better prepared. The upside of this was how nice the locals were with my limited Spanish and there limited or no English when showing the maps and asking for assistance. I notified the Tourist Bureau of the good and the bad!
