I cannot judge with absolute certainty  the guilt or innocence of Amanda Knox, nor can anyone without direct access and knowledge of all the forensic evidence--and its true meaning.. I would  however offer that societal and political  issues have and do play a meaningful part of her recent guilty verdict. Italy fought against us on the wrong side of WW11, and lost many many soldiers doing so. Thus, I think it is naïve to think that that backdrop of anger and resentment re  WW11 hasn't effected in some meaningful way this case and some  other aspects of Italian-American relations. Further, Italy makes huge amounts of needed money from tourism, with Americans being a crucial part of that revenue stream to them.. Not unlike many Parisians, many Italians have come to resent their dependence on American tourism. The media are aware of the above, and being media, feed into it with an outrageously biased reporting over the last few years concerning Amanda Knox. Not knowing anything other than hearsay also, the media have in large part demonized Ms. Knox to gain readership with shabby, sensationalist "journalism"... Finally, it is also apparent that the first prosecutor was so biased and irrational that his prosecution.... words and tactics are specious by any international stand of a competent, healthy pursuit of justice. So too, the most recent  judge who should be dismissed and the verdict waived based on his recent interview and now known biases. Italy: wake up. You may win Ms. Knox back to jail, though I suspect not. But if you just happen to, the backlash of our our country with the loss of trust in you as a country of many many millions of dollars re tourism, businesses and a cultural breach (righteous anger) of the  highest order which  will reverberate throughout country and give you such a shock  that you will rue the day you tampered and twisted with fairness for Ms. Knox. Plus, there is more than reasonable doubt concerning  this case, and she must be set free now. Shame to you, Italy, for the mockery of justice in this  case. Waive and dismiss her guilty verdict.

Bill O'Reilly was despicable in his interview with President Obama. He and many of his colleagues an friends--Limbaugh, Hannity, Ailes, Murdoch, Regan, Clancy and his author types, et al are mutton in lambs' clothing--road-show fascists, draped with the flag and carrying a cross (Sinclair Lewis)--a tortured pathetic version of  democracy as Sinclair Lewis wrote so brilliantly about. O'Reilly's questions and chronic interruptions were delivered in a snide manner, as if he wanted to "win' the interview by trying to vilify and bully the President. It back fired on O'Reilly.  O'Reilly doesn't understand that his affect and that "performance" do more to help the cause of Democrats and progressives more than his type will ever know. McCain and Palin are examples. The pea-brained Tea Party American and Limbaugh ( a truly sick, consumptive, womanizing ( I know his history well) 'entertainer--sallow  ditto heads)  may support an O'Reilly/Sarah P and their like, but most thoughtful rational USA citizens found and find  O'Reilly's bilious affect and nasty intent are repellent. Thus President  Obama won the last two elections and Democrats will keep winning with reactionary tired dinosaurs like O'Reilly and Fox News as their regressive and toxic standard bearers..
