I grew up in New York City. I now live in Phoenix. I'll take Phoenix any day. Much cleaner, less crowded, people are more friendly, less expensive. Nuff said.

Hell? Only in the hottest part of Summer. The rest of the year is great. I just get sick of the triple teens.

People get to hate cold weather the same. Just a different extreme.

I live in North Phoenix and the air is pretty clear up here. Dusty days are very rare. Generally the mountains are crystal clear.
Yes there are dusty days but it's been rare in my case and maybe it's more pronounced inside the city near South Mountain.

If you absolutely need perfect weather all year round to avoid the high 100s degrees, you can paddle a bit further up north to Cave Creek and it never gets as hot.

Phoenix is a beautifull city.On a good day you can see the neighbors house.Have to say the haboobs are cool.Only place i've lived where you can be inside and taste the air.And lets not forget when its 115-118 it's a dry heat, perfectly tolerable. PARADISE.
