Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Levittown, NY has an annual pumpkin patch on their front lawn - a convenient and fun way to take the kids out to pick their pumpkin. Costumed characters are there to greet and take photos with the kids. Pumpkin sale benefits an Indian reservation in New Mexico where the pumpkins are grown, as well as funding some special projects.

Ellies in Northfield Vermont is the best !!! Hundreds of lighted pumkins on a hillside every night for the week before Holloween. Must be seen once in a lifetime. Breath taking !!! Norwich Cadets and volunteers take weeks carving them. I can`t believe that Ellies didn`t make the list - Now I truely know not to believe your lists.

In addition to your "pumpkin patches," you might have considered the festivals, not the least of which is the Circleville (Ohio) Pumpkin Show which is always in mid-October and one of the oldest and biggest such festivals in the nation.  For many years, it claimed the world's largest pumpkin--a title always up for debate, depending on where you happen to like you pumpkins on steroids.  It also signified the end of the wonderful season of county fairs in Ohio.  Additionally, there are many huge pumpkin farms near Circleville which could easily contend with your choices.  No longer living in Ohio, I really miss both the season and the Circleville Pumpkin Show.
