The 10 most romantic skating rinks in North America

Holding hands as you glide together over the ice: It’s a classic date activity that never gets old. At these extraordinarily scenic, outdoor rinks, the romance quotient is off the charts.

I am from N.J. I spent many years ice skating on the Passaic River.

Loved to skate, my brothers and sister and I could skate four or five

miles a day..... on weekends.

I used hockey skates for years. One Christmas I got white figure

skates. I liked the skates so much I slept with them that night.

The best Christmas I ever had !!!!

70 years ago we used to skate and play hockey in Saint John N.B and the place was loaded with old time folks having a great time and the rink was called Beaconsfield rink and the Soldiers used to come wittheir trucks to clear it off and as they say THOSE WERE THE DAYS.We also used to skate at Lilly Lake where the music blared out and they used to have Skating races 90 years ago and my father was a judge at one of the races and a fellow by the name of Charles Gorman won the race. Time flies.

The small but picturesque church pond in Tremblant is so quaint- being in Canada there's a small area dedicated for hockey, a nice fire kept going by resort staff and it's where you put on/take off your skates which are usually included in your stay (most Trembalnt resorts, anyway) and the cute little church and church bells tolling make it seem like a scene from (insert classic holiday flick title here). The little tiny sandwich shop in front of the Fairmont is a great place for after-skating snacks.

Citipond at Bryant Park in New York City should have made this list.  It is a great ice skating rink and especially romantic at night.

Lake of Isles doesn't look romantic at all.  A much better choice would have been Westchester Lagoon in Anchorage, AK and it's also a real pond!

I'm from the Twin Cities. There's skating rinks on every corner here in Minnesota.

2 kids skating on thawing ice outside a hockey rink is anything but romantic.

You mailed it on MSN....

I used to live in Yosemite for many years. Loved skating at the Curry Village rink! It has such a beautiful view and was a fun place to hang with friends and drink amazing hot chocolate.
